立て続けに発情期　Girls come into heat one after another

日本語だと犬のことでも「女の子」と言うけど、英語だと語弊があるのかな。Girls = The female dogsです。

In Japanese, even female dogs are called “Girls” sometimes, but in English,is that misleading? This title’s “girls” meaning female dogs.

8月の半ばから牝犬たちが次々とヒートになっています。霊虎、娘のウタがほぼ同時。百はすごくわかりにくいけど、いつの間にか終わりかけている感じ。露虎は、今日か明日には始まりそう。

On central of this August, our girls into heat one after another.Tamako, her doughter Uta is same time almost.Hyaku is very difficult to find her heat, but may be finish soon.Tsuyuko will start today or tommorow,may be.

気候のせいなのかなんなのか、少し周期が乱れています。特に百は、前回も始まりと終わりが分かりにくく、だらだらと続いていました。前回、8カ月で来たので次も8カ月前後で来るかと思っていたら、4カ月半で来てしまった。

Maybe it’s because of the weird weather, but their cycles are a little out of whack.Especially for Hyaku, it was difficult to tell where it started and ended last time, and it just continued on and on.Last time, she came into heat at 8 months, so I thought she would come around 8 months the next time, but she came at 4 and a half months.

でも、実は霊虎もそうで、昨年、初めてのヒートが終わったあと4カ月半で来ました。その時は霊虎の状態もよく、相手のオスが老齢だったこともあって交配しましたが、今回の百は焦ってかけずに飛ばすことにしました。まだ1歳になったばかりなので、せめて1歳半を過ぎてから。

But, acctually,Tamako was same with Hyaku.At last year, Tamako into heat at 4 and a half months after her first heat. In that time,Tamako’s condition was good, and her partner’s male dog was old age, so we bred them.But we decided not to rush this Hyaku, and carry it over to the next time.She just turned 1 year old, so we thought it would be best if she was over 1 and a half years old at the earliest.

ウタも今回初めてのヒートなのでスキップ、霊虎も去年、若くして子育てがんばってくれましたが、お乳が出なかったのでしっかり体を作ってからということでスキップ。露虎は前回、夜雲の前立腺肥大のことがあって続けて交配したからスキップ。

Uta is first heat, so we’ll skip it,too.Tamako didn’t produce milk when she gave birth last year when she was young, so I’m skipping this year.Tsuyuko will skipp too, last time because she mated in quick succession due to Yakumo’s enlarged prostate.

そんなわけで、今回は4頭全員交配なしです。

That’s why, this time, all four of them will not be mated.

いつもはオス同士がケンカしないようにと、極力オスメス隣同士になるように犬舎に配置していますが、女性群の匂いに男性群がうるさいので席替えしました。

Usually, the female is placed as close to the male’s cage as possible to prevent the males from fighting with each other.However, the males reacted to the female’s scent and were noisy, so we rearranged them.
